As part of her lifelong interests in art and writing, Jo Pomeroy-Crockett has been painting in watercolor, water media, and pastel for many years, and has written numerous educational materials, magazine articles, and children’s books. Her work as a free-lance writer, artist, and educator allows her to continue developing her creativity and her technical skills.
Pomeroy-Crockett works primarily wet-into-wet and strives for dramatic value patterns, Bright colors, an emphasis on the play of light, and a touch of whimsy mark her paintings and her collages. Although she enjoys painting a wide variety of subjects, she especially enjoys painting animals.
Pomeroy-Crockett has exhibited in numerous juried art competitions. Her work is in private collections in various parts of the U. S., England, Canada, and Switzerland.
Although Pomeroy-Crockett has written a variety of materials, the latest includes the Why Series: “Why Did I Lose My Teeth?”, “Why Do I Need to Sleep?”, “Why Do I Need to Wash?”, “Why Do I Need to Exercise?”, “Why Do I Need to Eat Fruits and Veggies?”, and “Why Did My Bone Break?”. Published by Educational Activities, Inc., the series is available in both English and Spanish.
